VILLAGE POWER OUTAGES
Good afternoon Village Residents.
What we were hoping to not happen did happen last night and this village was fully prepared. There were several power outages reported in the village last night with some outages lasting as long as 2 1/2 hours at -4° temperatures.
True to the Mayor’s word, the senior center was open as a warming station. Originally it was going to be the recreation center, but positive situations let us use the Senior Center.
A Village department of Public Works vehicle was placed outside with a rotating yellow light directing anybody who needed a warming station where to go.
Tonight, unfortunately mother nature presents the same scenario and there’s always the possibility of power outages just like last night.
In the event the same situation happens, the Senior Center will be kept open.
We thank Central Hudson for their quick response in getting the power turned on.
Please also be aware that the Department of Public Works is being proactive putting salt down ahead of time to avoid ice buildup in the roads.
Montgomery Village is a great place to live raise a family and take care of our residents during these frigid temperatures.
Thank you.
