The Village of Montgomery continues to pursue and secure critical grant funding to improve infrastructure, accessibility, recreation, public safety, environmental stewardship, and community connectivity throughout the region. Through partnerships with local municipalities, school districts, and public agencies, the Village is investing in projects that strengthen quality of life for residents today while preparing for long-term growth and sustainability.

Current Funding Highlights

The Village has secured several significant funding awards currently underway or in active implementation.

OCYB / D.A.R.E. Program

$10,000 awarded with an additional $16,000 request submitted. Supports youth education, prevention, and community outreach programs.

SWIMS Pedestrian Bridge Project

Connects Veterans Memorial Park to Benedict Farm Park, creating direct walkable access to open space, trails, and community recreation activities.

CDBG – Benedict Farm ADA Trail

Full ADA-accessible walking path system within Benedict Farm Park. Completion anticipated by October 2026.

DEC Habitat Restoration

Removes invasive species and restores native habitats, improving wildlife habitat, environmental health, and public access to green space.

NYSDOT TAP Regional Connectivity

A partnership with the Town of Montgomery focused on shared-use paths, ADA connectivity, school-to-park access, pedestrian and bicycle safety, and Route 17K corridor improvements.

Fresh Local Food Partnership Grant

Expands fresh, local foods in Valley Central School District meal programs, supports local farms and community partnerships, and promotes student health and nutrition.

Provides support for Montgomery Fire District equipment and emergency services, strengthening public safety and emergency response capacity throughout the region.
